The Church teaches in my church that having family home for dinner on Sabbath days particularly and on other days too is important to keep children out of undesirable homes where drug addiction may ensue or other socially unacceptable behaviours like rape may be thought normal when they're not, isn't what they say perhaps in those words but if family have great values like I do, says Mummy the family dinner time will help the children to feel safe and loved.
The Prophet said this is important.

Suspicion
Mummy has a few words to say to me and my friends on Blog galit.com today. She says, "I have just started reading through a most enlightening book entitled Art Speak about recent movements in the art world. One sentence which really got me laughing told how the United States, Russia and China were suspicious of modern art. I thought, how funny, they the members of the public of those countries who didn't like some modern art overly much probably thought, "Who on earth do those modern artists think they are, having those new ideas!" I had a good chuckle over that. It reminded me of a father of a child I was instructing in my puppetry/storytelling class once, who remarked, when I had set up a table so the children could dabble in some modern art themselves, probably a traditionally trained painter himself I wouldn't doubt, "Um...what is that?" very diplomatic, I felt, of him, but I thought his question was hilariously funny. This was at a Jewish Community Centre. I had lovingly saved the green perspex in question for years hoping to use it on just such an occasion as this to make something absolutely wonderful, and I thought the children would think so too.
Galit is coming - Christmas is coming
We have no money to give you, no seeds to donate. But we're having a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year because we're being kind and most people are being kind to us apart from Grandpa who's being a Grinch.

I read about Moses
I read about Moses. I feel he is a great prophet. I don't always understand the things he did, but I feel greatness in him.

Breastfeeding help
Dear All,
If baby is having trouble getting any milk from your breasts, it may be because you are stressed out. The best thing to do is to call your friends who are breastfeeding too, and organize a breastfeeding group to support one another or exchange information. La Leche League has breastfeeding information on their website on the Internet. Please refer to them if you need ideas and information concerning this.

The Squirrel Poem by Galit's Mum
Scurry home
And plant
Your seeds
Say the Squirrels.
We will do
As much as
We can
And everything
Will work out
As well as
It can.
Plant kale seeds,
Plant spinach seeds,
And plant Swiss chard seeds,
For growth in winter
With an empty
Milk jug on
The top
To keep in
The warmth.
Remove jug
For watering,
Okay?
I am giviing free seeds to the first three contestants who will sing a Christmas carol on air (telephone) to a neighbour they love. Happy Hannukah!

Gardening tips
If you happen to have on hand a few spinach seeds, and some good earth in your compact gardening space, try growing some now. Okay? In a few months you'll need it perhaps, but in the meantime, put an upside down milk jug or soy milk jug with the top off on the seed area to keep the warmth in, so growing will start, and take it off when you water the things (the seeds). People do this up North and they get growth happening, when the snow comes even. If you have a green house, even better. Make use of what you have, God will bless you for making an effort.
Greek dancing is needed
I suggest, as preposterous as it sounds, that we do a bit of Greek dancing every day, because it is slow moving, and doesn't stress anyone's muscles too much. Try looking up the Syrtaki videos for Greek dancing lessons on the Web (example: Greek Dancing Syrtaki on Youtube should help you with this goal if it is for you you think). It is very easy. It is a walking speed kind of energeticness of a step, anyone can learn it nearly.
Help is needed by many, please help as much as you can dear people
We're struggling through our day, trying to help as many people as we can. Our good wishes to you.
Pippi Longstocking During A Pogrom
Pippi Langstrump is a Jewish story nearly, for the kindheartedness of the leading character sketch, Pippi who owns a horse and a monkey named Mr. Nelson. (She loves them. They're her friends.) The only part that is n't good about this is that she makes cookies on the floor. I don't do it on the floor.
She loves the police officers that come to visit her, but leads them kindly away with superior strength of arm, telling them that thank you kind officers for your concern for the poor and needy, but we need no placement in a children's home as we are well off at home with knee deep in mud fun for all concerned, as children are apt to think.

Kate Chorney, Ellen Clark's Mother Dear, if she had one who was a Police Officer, would tell you to Keep Calm and Eat Wild Food In Season that tastes good and does you no harm, and please Help Others.
Evenin' All.
Evenin' All.
The People of the Bay Area are Kind Examples especially when there is a disaster
We love the San Franciscans because they're so kind. They help the needy. We help you, you help us, they think. Be an angel and feed the needy is their quote.
Snails are good food if you can find them
I've eaten them myself in France says Galit's wise old owl Mother about her trip to France where she ate them boiled in butter and garlic, considered a delicacy by the French and Mummy and served in posh hotels when she was young. Those were the days, she said, we had enough money, but the French use everything, maybe that's why.
More food tips with Galit your friend the Superstore clerk you think not but a friend anyway
Dear Friendly Folk,
We are concerned that you do not have enough to eat if you do not go out into the forest and the park and make the best of the food such as dandelions and horta. Horta is a word from the East of Europe meaning "wild greens". If anything looks vaguely like lettuce, you are probably safe eating it for supper tonight or anytime. Stay away from anything that looks suspicious. Take your grandmother along with you not, (Swedish word order, dear, we are not Swedish but we've lived there, Sweden that is in our fifth year Mummy says if it was her and "not" comes after the doing word or verb such as in the kind sentence to introduce yourself to strangers from abroad who seem to not know what is what in the language of Sweden, "Kan du inte (not doesn't go here, it really does!) tala Svenska?" With incredulity ask this says welfare recipient of the past but we hope soon to be a wife and not a welfare recipient, so hold your horses Galit! says Mummy we might be in for a rough ride if we don't use our supportive welfare money wisely until then.

What to eat for dinner tonight and tomorrow
Eat well and don't skimp is usually the rule, Galit's Auntie Joanne says if she's her auntie and she's her Mother.
We would eat dandelions -dents de lion -if we had a need for a salad, and we don't we really do! Dandelions make you pee, but they are good for strength and you can survive on them, if rather bitter. Try cornmeal with dandelions and juice if you have any and any beans will do, fava if you know what I mean. Daniel in the Bible ate them with his food in the palace and was good and beautiful and strong on beans, so don't worry, you won't lose your health by eating a few beans at every meal or a lot of beans.
Farewell, kind people. Galit Chorney your friend from Athabasca Allan Chorney is well as far as I know too.

Galit and Mummy are well, and alive
Dear Children of the world,
We do not know what is happening in the world right now as well as you do perhaps, but we wish you well. We cannot find our family and we're not sure where they are. Perhaps some of you are in the same boat. Don't worry, try and make contact with them during daylight hours, perhaps they'll sleep in and recover some of their oomph that way.

Comfrey leaf is useful for healing plasters
If you have a wound, use comfrey to cover it and you will have a free plaster to slip over it to heal the wound faster than normal. I wish you success, children.

Honesty is important, says Galit
We love Grandpa, because he's honest. He's so honest, he's always lying about just about everything. But we love him because he's honest according to him at least.
Letters From My Chalet by Joanne Morris Okano
I live in a hut
At the back
Of a house
Say the neighbours
(Or a hovel
If they're feeling down)
But to me
It's a chalet
On the top
Of a mount
In Switzerland
And I am the queen
Of the mountain.
People come by.
I know the Church
Is true
And I'm glad
I'm a member.
(This is an old poem before
I went to the synagogue.)

Killers At Church
There were men at Church who wanted to kill Galit, that's why she's afraid of attending Church.
We Had A Shocking Interlude This Evening - Galit's Eye View Of The Proceedings
Galit warns you that the Peruvian mafia is on the rise, and caused a pogrom nearly tonight, by turning off all the lights in the Vancouver Region, and pogromming Mummy and me if our candle storage wasn't better than theirs was. Hannukah was celebrated with a pathetic show of candles, I'll admit, said Mummy to herself, but at least we had candles burning at night in a safe place in the middle of the table of the kitchen, she said to herself, I'll emphasize again, she's not a show off, but she felt quite proud of herself tonight when she BELLOWED through the blinds, "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?" when flashlights showed up on the window blinds, lighting up the night. She did it just like Brigham. He's the next Prime Minister. He's the brother of my dreams, said Galit, if he keeps strangers away like that at night in a pogrom that never was and lashes out at them in English tones like the Court of Netherlands would, in polite English.

Galit and Joanne are related to Al
Al is related to me, says Galit, friendly like. She is descended from Edward Morris, and so is Mummy and Al. Edward Morris was a black man who was the first Mounted Police officer of Saskatchewan.
Al is great at Cree Indian dancing. Mummy says so.

The New Greek Wedding Is The Cree Indian Wedding Says Galit
The new Greek wedding is the Cree Indian Wedding. It doesn't cost any money, apart from face paint for the bridegroom plus his best jeans and dancing round the home of his beloved wife to be, when nightfall comes.
He comes in when he gets tired of dancing, after several tries to get her attention to show her what a fabulous dancer he is. Unfortunately, we didn't see it this way, and retired to bed before Daddy had finished his Cree Indian dancing because we didn't know the rules.

Apa! by Joanne Morris Okano
I used to live in Switzerland
For that's where I was born.
In Zurich, in a flat
I lived, and woke up every morn,
A cheerful, laughing baby.
My Mother took me out to play.
I said, "Apa!" to the men
As they passed me all day.
For that's where I was born.

I lived, and woke up every morn,
A cheerful, laughing baby.
My Mother took me out to play.
I said, "Apa!" to the men

Adventures at the Seaside
My Mum (Mom to you) were walking by the seaside, after a busy day downtown in downtown Vancouver, B.C., Canada, when Mummy (Mommy to you) stopped to pick up a strip of delicious seaweed, laden with even more delicious seasand. Yum! thought Mummy, I bet! She was so hungry she was eating seasand. She had only enough money for a milkshake, not kosher I know, but we were Mormon.
Then along came three fine young missionaries, with good intentions, when one of them saw us in the distance and said, "That girl (meaning Mummy) needs help!"
He saw her eating the seaweed probably. He was genuinely concerned about her welfare. But she knew better.
She thought, "I know perfectly well I'll be sorely tempted, not by the Lord but by the devil, to offer up the Lord my oblations with the quip, "Oh, Lord, what have I done?" you think. But no, I was more worried, that I, a mere mortal would die of a broken heart if I did ask for help to buy some food other than a milkshake of these fine souls.
So I ran for it almost, two miles away along the coast, while they wondered what my problem was. They were only trying to help. Oh, well, I missed two friends, and one very good friend if I don't say more.
Thank you fine men for your fine wishes.

I am Jewish this week. Next week who knows. Maybe I'll be Mormon. The way things are going, no one knows.
My Mummy is Jewish this week too.
