Adventures at the Seaside

My Mum (Mom to you) were walking by the seaside, after a busy day downtown in downtown Vancouver, B.C., Canada, when Mummy (Mommy to you) stopped to pick up a strip of delicious seaweed, laden with even more delicious seasand.  Yum! thought Mummy, I bet!  She was so hungry she was eating seasand.  She had only enough money for a milkshake, not kosher I know, but we were Mormon.
Then along came three fine young missionaries, with good intentions, when one of them saw us in the distance and said, "That girl (meaning Mummy) needs help!"
He saw her eating the seaweed probably.  He was genuinely concerned about her welfare.  But she knew better.
She thought, "I know perfectly well I'll be sorely tempted, not by the Lord but by the devil, to offer up the Lord my oblations with the quip, "Oh, Lord, what have I done?" you think.  But no, I was more worried, that I, a mere mortal would die of a broken heart if I did ask for help to buy some food other than a milkshake of these fine souls.
So I ran for it almost, two miles away along the coast, while they wondered what my problem was.  They were only trying to help.  Oh, well, I missed two friends, and one very good friend if I don't say more.
Thank you fine men for your fine wishes.
